Crosscut sled

I designed and built this crosscut sled to provide accurate and repeatable crosscuts on my table saw, with a generous 630mm crosscut capacity. The design was developed in CAD before construction, allowing me to work out the dimensions, runner positions and supporting structure before cutting any timber.

The sled features captive runners to prevent it tipping or lifting during use, along with an auxiliary support section to provide additional support for wider workpieces. A sliding stop block with an integral tape measure allows quick and repeatable cuts without having to measure each piece individually. The result is a substantial, purpose-built workshop jig designed around accuracy, stability and repeatability.
